My trip to Chicago with Verizon and the Verizon Midwest Savvy Savers!

First of all I need to say this… I LOVE CHICAGO! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
I love all of the sights, sounds (minus the honking cars…lol) and smells (mmmm…Garrett Popcorn!!!).

This past weekend, I was invited by Verizon to partake in their Chicago Midwest Savvy Savers Kick-Off event.
If you haven’t read my past post, HERE it is. It will explain the Verizon Midwest Savvy Savers program that I will be a part of for the next 6 months.

My husband, Dave, came along with me and we arrived in Chicago on Thursday. Verizon had us booked into a nice, plush Deluxe King Suite at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was such a modern and elegant room.
Dave LOVES his rock ‘n roll, so of course, he had to take a pic of this mirror with a KISS song lyric…LOL!

The room was VERY comfortable and suited our needs for our 2 night stay.

Alrighty, let’s get to the GOOD stuff!
On Friday, all of the Verizon Midwest Savvy Saver bloggers met up with each other and we were given our devices.
The Motorola Xyboard 10.1 tablet. Complete with the Droid Xyboard Display Folio, which is super handy!
We were all able to check it out, play around with it and bring it to our WONDERFUL dinner that evening, at Riva on Navy Pier.
The view was gorgeous!

Along with these gorgeous views, I was able to meet some fantastic ladies. It was nice to get us all together since we have a couple things in common…blogging and saving money. I made a lot of friends this past weekend and I hope we can all get together again… and it was all because of this amazing Motorola Xyboard and Verizon’s super fast 4G LTE network that I will get to try out for 6 months :)

It will be a little rough for me to get used to a Droid device since we are an Apple and iOS family. We have Macs, iPods and iPhones coming out of our ears around here! LOL!
BUT, what better critic to try out and review the Motorola Droid Xyboard than a die-hard Apple fan???
Huh… I think it’s a perfect match-up!

So far, so good…for me and the ‘Droid’, as we are now calling it. Jackson, my 5 year old son, was calling it the new iPad, because that is all we have ever owned, so he doesn’t know any different. We tried getting him to say Xyboard, but that comes out sounding like diving-board… Yup. ‘Droid’ it is…LOL!

OH, I thought I would share a little collage of the views my lovely husband got to see while I was with the Verizon crew and my fellow Midwest Savvy Savers. He was nice enough to take a bunch of pics for me :)
